BULK FOOD

     Leraysville Market is a Bulk Food Store.  Products are bought in bulk quantity from our suppliers and are packaged in the store in various style consumer size packages.  Our primary supplier for bulk food items is Dutch Valley Distributors.  We can order and have delivered any item in their catalog. 

     Depending upon the product, items in the store are packaged in plastic bags, heat seal bags or plastic containers. 

     Plastic bags are used for many products.  They can be re-closed by re-using the tie that closed them.  Sugar, flour and many candies are packaged this way.

     Heat seal bags are used for some products.  Many products have a nicer appearance in the heat seal bags, and storage life is extended by using these bags as the bags do not breath air in or out as do the plastic bags.  Once a heat seal bag is opened it cannot be re-sealed.  If the product is not all used at the time of opening, it should then be stored for future use in some other manner. 

     Plastic containers are used for spices and some other products.  The lid can be put back on these containers for continued storage of the product.
